Perfomance Testing
Learn a performance testing process to test site / application before–
and after–it goes live
Introduction
Performance, a non-functional requirement of a customer, is becoming a paramount need in any software or system to be successful in field and also, during its operation. However, With time-to-market being the most important driving factor, modern applications embracing more complex designs spread across multiple platforms and technologies are throwing new challenges to ensure required performance.
In such an environment, the test engineering efforts are considered at the fag end of the development phase and the performance testing is always considered important. However performance testing is a costly affair from cost of infrastructure. The time & money required to depict and correct the issue will be four fold when considered to testing and correcting the issue before deployment. By understanding these real life testers’ problem, the workshop presents experience and case study based approach for planning and implementing performance testing.
Workshop Overview
This is a hands-on one-day workshop that provides strategies and methods for understanding, planning and implementing performance testing. Performance Testing requires 90% analysis effort and 10% tools. This one-day tutorial will be a case study of Performance Testing for any application. The case study will involve analyzing the hardware platform, understanding the operational profiles and examining the actual test results.
Faculty: Mr. Praveen Kumar G
Mr. Praveen Kumar G is performance tester with more than 3 years of hardcore industrial experiences in the field of
performance testing and other challenging test related projects.
Mr. Praveen Kumar successfully completed two challenging projects on performance testing. He also handled many a multiple domain projects in the area of functional testing.
Mr. Praveen Kumar has contributed in testing projects by involving himself throughout Software Testing Life Cycle right from the beginning. His expertise and passion in functional testing and specialized skills in performance testing are of great caliber and built higher rapport with client.

Workshop Objectives
At the end of Workshop the participants will
• Appreciate the importance of Performance Testing especially for service oriented architectures
• Realize the importance of the Performance testing before deployment
• Get to know about different tools available for Performance Testing
• Understand the different phases in Performance Testing Life Cycle
• Understand the importance for effective planning, developing a strategy for carrying out Performance testing
• Understand potential bottlenecks
Who Should Attend
This workshop is for Project Leads/Managers, Test Leads/Managers, QA Heads who wants to understand and experience Performance Testing of their applications and who wish to increase their understanding of the skills needed to test the applications for scalability, stress, and Load.
Workshop Advantage
Imagine that you have made heroic effort to deliver a system under reasonable deadlines and with limited staff and equipment, even after scrupulously testing the application to ensure the features work as expected and then you release the system. You monitored the performance of the application in the lab and everything seemed to be fine, even then we cannot ensure that the performance of the application will be as expected because you never considered the nature of the load that the application has to handle. With methodical performance testing we can ensure the performance of the application by emulating the production environment so that you can state confidently that your application handles the expected load after deploying the application in the live environment.
